But it was so cold here during and after the snowstorm last week that there were no tracks at all in the snow for several days. Even the critters didn’t want to venture out.

Of course not! Some of them probably haven’t even bathed recently, and anyway Hobbes is a pescatarian.

With that mix of breeds, you must throw the tennis ball a LOT.

So Calvin last name is Holmes…

I was under the impression that Hobbes came to life only in the presence of Calvin, who was in bed. Anybody?

I was adopted by a semi-feral Red Heeler mix. Spooky would still take an occasional rabbit even after we became buddies and he was fed regularly. I still miss the guy.

You know what they say, “You can take the tiger out of the jungle, but you can’t take the jungle out of the tiger.”

I happen to know that the original pub date for this strip was January 9, 1994, not January 12th, as the last panel would indicate. I used to collect my local paper’s Sunday comics sections as a kid and this was one of the first ones I had. So there’s a minor bit of doctoring being done to these oldies. =)

LOVE the look on Calvin’s face in the last panel! And I always thought Hobbes looked very cute in that scarf! :-)
