Our high school band played “Sleigh Ride” to serenade dismissal on the last day before the holidays. The most popular part was the whip cracks.

One year, my high school’s Christmas concert included the song “What Child Is This?”. On the programs, the word “…Child…” was omitted.

Seattle band The Squirrels actually did “Sleigh Ride” to the tune of “Slow Ride” on their Christmas album. My favorite track is the mash-up of “Up on the Rooftop” and “Smoke On the Water” (“Smoke On the Rooftop”), although “Rudolph” to the tune of “Rhiannon” is close.
