The momentous event of Trudeau returning his focus to Doonesbury from Alpha House gives us the opportunity to remind ourselves to ignore the trolls, here and elsewhere on the ’net.

PhD from MIT and ending up waiting tables. At that point it’s very reasonable to assume that the whole universe hates you.

Yeah, why hire an American graduate when you can hire an H1B foreign worker for one third the pay?

Sorry, sir, but the only way you can qualify for goverment handouts is to already be rich and then lose billions of other (mostly middle class) small investors’ dollars. Once you do this, the government will be happy to give you billions more, provided you don’t use it to help those small investors (note: “small investor” is Wall Street terminology for “sucker”).

This is America. Anyone with an MIT degree can create a new high tech company, create hundreds of high paying jobs and make millions of dollars for themselves. This is America GT, Alex can do it! The only thing government can do is get in her way!

Good for you! Now you can live it up on $4.30 per day for food. And you should have no problem paying your mortgage, utilities, gas and the other necessities of daily life on $1,000 per month. The ignorance of some people boggles the mind.

Actually the unemployment rate for college graduates in science and engineering is less than 3%. For college graduates in general its less than 5%.

That is typical liberal logic. Alex should automatically qualify for government grants because she finished grad school. She can’t be expected to compete in the private/corporate world. What about academia? No, it’s wait tables b/c the evil republicans won’t give you a grant. Give me a break, puh-leez

Waiting tables? She should be able to get a job as an Engineer. Being a woman companies would fight over her.

Actually, the economy tanked under the republican’s great god bush. President Obama has dragged it back from life support dragging the republican boat anchor. That would be you.

This makes no sense. But that’s what happens when the writer forgets what happened and when it happened. Sequestration caused an economic upswing, odd nobody here heard about it.

When a person deoesn’t know what he is doing, attempts at fixes tend to be counterproductive but if they are charasmatic, their worshipers assure each other the situation would have been far worse without the fix and it would have been even better if others had simply obeyed the fixer.(My tenses are mixed but too much trouble to fix on this Nook or maybe I also should have read the manual.)

Cutbacks? Oh, yes, I remember, more spending and taxation, just not as much more spending and taxation as the WH wanted.
