What exactly could anyone from the U.S. have done to produce a guaranteed stable outcome in Egypt (or any of the other Arab countries that experienced the Arab Spring)? What magic wand of diplomacy by Americans would have allowed all the pent up anger and the factional differences in these nations to have produced a stable outcome?
I agree with most of what you said, particularly the U.S. ceasing to try being the world’s policeman. Our military-industrial complex is far too powerful and distorts our foreign policy.
