Just because Trayvon is black it means they’re just alike? Isn’t this the kind of thinking that white folks get blasted for? Trayvon did not have the proveleged upbringing that the President did. Few do.
Except that your statement simply proves the point of the cartoon. You are not listening, you are judging. And your judgment is a bit off, I think…since Obama has gotten very little indeed accomplished whenever a Republican decides “no.” I think the GOP better deserves your statement.
Exactly. If you’ve never been followed around a department store or seen a woman clutch her purse when you get on an elevator, you wouldn’t have any idea what he’s talking about.
1. There was a tremendous uptake in “division” even before Obama got the nomination, let alone the Presidency. It wasn’t coming from the left, or even “the middle”.
2. It was “interesting” to observe the difference in people’s reactions to my working with a black NPS Ranger, and that was a long time ago. The folks always addressed their questions or conversations to ME, even though HE was my supervising Ranger!!
3.In many ways, many days, and many places in the U.S., things haven’t changed, other than after the Civil Rights Act, the parties did switch their “membership” with regard to prejudice.
4. And also worth mentioning folks, prejudice works both (or multiple) ways, the racial slurs aren’t all owned by “white folk”.
5. President Obama DID note item 4 above in his speech, and has so noted for some time. Eliminating the divide ain’t going to happen, but he IS trying to narrow it.
And have we forgotten last summer’s Montana gathering of Republicans who put up an outhouse labelled “Obama Presidential Library”, complete with graffitti (unflattering, of course) concerning Michelle Obama? Not one attendee thought this was inappropriate.
Obama was educated. Even thirty years ago, Trayvon could not have been exposed to any but a public school. Public schools’ record for educating black kids is even worse than for educating white ones.
This country abandoned education in favour of indoctrination for the masses decades ago. This country does not want an educated population.
I dare ANY of you defenders of Trayvon Martin to watch this video and STILL have the nerve to think Trayvon was innocent and that George Zimmerman was guilty! If you are NOT convinced, then YOU are blind and instigate racial division!
