Let’s see…..use ignorant right wing meme to explain a complex problem that took about 50 years to happen. Tea brains (a term used in its loosest definition) are happy.

I worked for the UAW in Detroit for 8 years. They are a greedy evil bunch. Nothing else to say.

The idea that there can or should be equality in America is a fantasy, and it’s about time Americans learn that not all people in America can expect a decent life, a home, a car, an education, or vacations. The natural order of things is a society based on a class system: the owners and the workers, which is the only way an economy can function. It’s been that way in all of history and in all other countries. The moment the lower class workers try to squeeze the owners for a wage that raises them above poverty, the whole system goes broke and falls apart. For America to survive, the working class must give up its useless dreams of equality and learn their place at the bottom of the economic pyramid.

Yes, equal outcomes are a Marxist fantasy that will never be fulfilled. Capitalism is the way to go!

When Jap cars began to appear in the worker’s parking lot, the corporation should have taken note.

The population went from 2 million to about 600,000.

Obviously the tax revenue left with those people looking for work when imports were eating the auto industry’s lunch.

Why? Because they continued to make cars Americans didn’t want. Thankfully the auto industry has learned that lesson but, too late for Detroit.

Yeah, unions caused all of this…

Someone once described General Motors as a Health Insurance Provider that made cars as a sideline…

Never any management in Detroit, was there? Never any capital? Never any creative intelligence? Just the Doom of people working together in Union? What the hell’s a corporation but a Union?

Grow some eyes, people. The Glen Gold Rush Standard ‘News’ Fox is eating your pathetic lunch.

And have you considered the crooks and incompetent management? And the car companies wouldn’t have gone where they did if management had paid attention to the market. Don’t blame it on the workers, they didn’t get to make the decisions and don’t now that the “dictator” Orr is in town.

You may be relatively new here. NeoconMan posts are satirical, often so well crafted that he seems serious to those not used to his craft.

Referring very narrowly to the phrase “equality in America”: This is what sloppy thinking gets you. The equality referred to in the Constitution and which is part of our legal structure is equal application of laws to all classes and all persons, and all that that provides. (Not saying that we achieve that; just that that’s what is meant.)Sloppy / wishful thinking has extrapolated that to mean equal everything for everyone. That’s not even reasonable, but is a useful fulcrum for leveraging discontent and further unreasonableness.

^ I’m agreeing with you entirely! Equality under law is constitutional, but the lower classes are genetically inferior and do not deserve to have equal wealth or opportunity; indeed, they are happiest when they know their place and are being exploited. And giving them more than a few crumbs just makes them greedy and then the whole society collapses.

So glad to see I have an ally in these matters.

(Louise, I am not an “elitist,” I am the “elite.” Politically, financially, and corporeal.)
