Your principal must have had a really old, and possibly blank, dictionary.

I can see this happening in real life. He should have used a French dictionary.

He should have just looked up the word “fashion”.

My father was the principal of my high school, I never got sent home. Though I never tried wearing culottes :-)

I was once sent home for wearing culottes. With jodhpurs.

Wait…so the dictionary was “sans-culottes”?

In fact, culottes is not in my Webster’s school dictionary, c1964. A lucky excuse for a principal attempting to avoid total chaos.

I think it’s great that you still have your old school dictionary. Was it yours to begin with or did you “borrow” it from your school?

I’m surprised that her poodle isn’t wearing dog culottes.

What is about this eccentric comic strip that attracts so many commentaries?

Yeah she’s all right & also smart cause she must be married to a Persian LOL cuz she has a Persian last name. Although I doubt she’s Persian herself, but she could be, What’s ironic is our school principal in Iran was Ms Dowlatshahi.

I just found “comics sherpa”… today they have “Almost Art” by Wayne Lambert… Frog Applause fans should find it interesting…

I just asked her how come she has a Persian last name since she said she wasn’t Persian herself.

My granddaughters were aghast when I told them that girls in my town first got the ‘right’ to wear pants to school when I was a senior in high school. In earlier years you COULD wear pants to school, under your skirt, if it was below zero (!), but you had to take the pants off when you got there.

Also, kudos to Fortran for the great joke!
