MARY WORTH’S CLOSING COMMENT: Mary signals the end of the (Beth/Elinor) episode by having a drink with a friend. Sometimes it’s coffee, today it’s iced tea…but she always has a drink with a friend and makes a closing comment when a story has come to a conclusion. @ Arye- perhaps the next storyline will be about a change in Mary’s own life.
MARY WORTH: When did Mary begin living in her present condo? where did she live before? What kind of work did she do that she could afford a condo or is it her deceased husband’s money? Who was her husband?
I think by Mary’s implied “change” it means she may reconsider her male friend’s proposal of marriage.
I remember reading MW in the 1950s. Then she was old enough to be my grandmother; now I’m about 10 years older than she is.
REX MORGAN: Yep: it’s artist’s block brought on by the lure of a money-making project.
APT3G: I guess that means that Margo is going to have fun, fun, fun.

MARY WORTH “MAGIC”: I am not telepathic (see above how I appear to have posted first, yet responded to Arye’s comment which is posted below mine). What actually took place was that Arye had posted first and then decided to edit his commentary and add the sentence about his grandmother. After I had posted and was in the second position, Arye re-posted his comment, adding the sentence about his grandmother, and at the same time he deleted his original comment. So there’s no magic; just a clever use of “copy & paste” and the Gocomics delete button. Any new post, edit or not, goes automatically to the last position at the time it is submitted.

Mary I agree with Arye. This may signal an impending change in Mary & Jeff’s “arrangement”. And to respond to Woodworker, probably not until next Monday. Mary Worth – Wikipedia says that Mary’s husband was Jack Worth, a Wall Street tycoon. My memory is that when I started reading it, she was living in New York and raising two grandchildren. They haven’t been mentioned in a long time.We haven’t actually seen Jeff Corey for a while so what change is she contemplating. They have never exploited the Ask Wendy column for stories. She could travel and meet interesting people.Judge Parker – The Acapulco group is being comped ? By whom? The cruise ship because they can’t take them directly or April’s father?Phantom ? puzzling, but not enough to prevent zzz.Mark Trail – Isn’t Mark a famous columnist? How can he go incognito?
MARK TRAIL – I may have mentioned this before, but isn’t the point of a trophy to be able to say you shot it yourself? Some places round up the animals and make it easy to shoot them, which isn’t really sportsmanlike but at least doesn’t make it a complete lie!
