Get over it Radish. It’s Obama’s economy now. It IS his 2nd term…You’re like a broken record with blaming everything on Bush.

Despite increasing the debt more in his first 3 years compared to Bush’s entire 8 years, people are in no better shape. Just wait until Obama(non)Care kicks in.

We should just trust the president and congress to do nothing about this. It’s worked so well up to now.

“Yeah, dude, Obama’s perfectly capable of screwing things up by himself.”

No one person, not even Barack Obama, can do this much damage. It has taken a concentrated effort on the part of many people to make the American public pawns in a power struggle that benefits no one, except those in power.

The American taxpayer provides handsome compensation, but that’s peanuts compared to what they get from lobbyists. Until something fundamentally changes, nothing will change fundamentally.

^ Also, there are some people in better shape than when Obama took office. I’m pretty sure Fox “news” reports on the stock market, so you should be aware that the market has more than doubled while Obama has been in office.

The only reason the stock market hasn’t crashed yet is that we’re still printing money. The moment that stops…

Don’t forget the Democrat Congress that helped. The Greedy Bankers and the extremly idiotic and greedy people that took the loans they couldn’t pay for.

Just because YOU don’t agree with me doesn’t make it so. I sense desperation on you still trying to keep YOUR side of the aisle blameless by saying everybody’s a part of it. Sorry, your President said it’s time for Republicans to sit at the back of the bus, therefore if that’s the case, he’s responsible for this economy!

“I am 69 years old, and have yet to find anything “broken” about the health system we have had all this time.”

I wish I could agree with you. All I can assume is that you are one of the lucky ones. As a patient, my health insurance premium has more than doubled in the 8 years that I have had the same policy. I use it for one well-visit exam once a year. I am, however, 8 years older.

As a doctor, I could regale you for hours as to what is wrong with the previous system. I do not believe Obamacare is the right answer, but it is a bandage to be used until we have a better system.

It has little to do with not letting insurance sell from state to state. It would, if the insurance industry didn’t fix their prices to stay “competitive”. Let’s face it, we have all kinds of gas stations, which get their product from different sources and refineries, but gas costs basically the same wherever you go in the same town.

Malpractice does occur, as much as I might wish to deny it. Sometimes the judgements are fair; many times not. Virginia has a cap on dollar amounts for malpractice claims, and that has held costs down. It would be better if judges would hold attorneys in contempt for bringing obvious nuisance lawsuits.

The main problem with health care/sick care is that it is under total control of insurance companies. They even subcontract for Medicare and Medicaid. One additional profit-and benefit-demanding layer of paper-pushers. Until private insurance is removed from our system (and it is reinforced, not reduced, in Obamacare), things will continue to get worse.

And the reason there will be fewer doctors has little to do with Obamacare; it has to do with the fact that the ONLY cost controls that have been put into place since the 1980s have been reductions in payments to doctors and hospitals. How many of you are willing to take on more work in less time, be expected to never make a mistake (or risk losing everything you have), and be paid less and less for it?

I tell smart youngsters to stay out of health care. Go into computers. If you can make the damn thing work, it doesn’t matter if you haven’t showered since last November, or if you show up 3 hours late. You get paid for what you know by the people you help. This is far preferable to not being paid any better for a better outcome, by people who could really care less.
