It is gonna be more than a week Pam. Around my neighborhood it sounds like Captain Kirk has his Fazers on stun for the whole area for more than 2 weeks now. And it is not getting any better.

It’s funny: on Earth, all the cicadas sound alike, but in space, they all have their unique calls.

One of the sweetest sounds on earth, I think. I always look forward to the Cicadas emergence. Unfortunately, they didn’t emerge as much here as was anticipated. They are more to the east of us, but we do have a couple of broods around.

Cooked cicadas are called land shrimp. So cooked space cicadas would be called space land shrimp, right? I wonder how that would work.

Bruno Zeigerts Not a fan of country, but I do LOVE Charlie Daniels! But I wouldn’t call him typical country TWANG!

Maybe they could transport them to the insectoid ship, where they’d be no tribble at all…

Waitingman, truer words were never spoken. I’ll admit, when I was in my teens I didn’t like Charlie Pride, Mel Tillis, Dolly Parten, etc. But I know music now, and I understand the homespun beauty our culture contained within those plaintive songs…And yes, Charlie counts. Country rock extended country music’s lifespan. The Ozark Mountain Daredevils were the ones that got me to give that style of music another listen. And there is still good country out there, you just have to know where to look….Jim Lauderdale, Rodney Crowell, Emmy Lou is still going strong….Donna The Buffalo, ..Americana is the REAL country music now……
