    My uncle had a bait shop. He sold worms and other bait. For some reason grass hoppers and crickets sold like crazy one season…Next thing you know we had a locust invasion…..The last we saw of him was running through a field yelling “I’m rich! I’m rich!”

    @Kali39, Each generation takes 17 years, but there can be multiple generations in a single area and more in other areas. So it could have been 7 years since your last one. Eastern PA had them in ’71, ’88 & ’05, so that was 8 years ago.

    Our area is supposed to be inundated with them right now, but I’ve had exactly 10 in my back yard – all very quiet. Three miles down the road, however, it’s pretty loud al day.
