I cannot abide strident commentators,in print or on air ! I also detest hosts who are so enamored of their own voice or so rapt in opinion, that they wont allow their guest to speak.. Chris Matthews is one of those !Where has the art of listening gone ?

I really like the Maple Nut slurry/ideology….Although most of it looks like chocolate, and/or “Straw Fudge” from Mackinac Island….

“A hot slurry of gut feelings…to harden into rigid ideology”?

That’s ironic, because it’s the best description of the Left I’ve ever seen.

On behalf of the United Kingdom, I can only apologise (except for his views on guns, where he has had an unaccountable attack of common sense), but I’m afraid that having got rid of him we’re not taking him back. If he arrives at Heathrow, the lights will be out and no-one will be answering the door.

aah, the joys of W’s inbred idiocy and the Right’s corpulant redundancy exude from the Pet Goat Museum. now maybe some thick coating of molasses to seal in the aroma of fetid hatred and intolerance.

and taxpayer have to pay for this. Freedom isn’t free, as they say. too bad we can’t sell it. Making a profit is the American Way!

Quick! Name the last time that NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN or MSNBC disagreed on or had a radically different point-of-view on any news story. They all report the same news in the same way, day after day after day after day. I don’t always agree with FOX news, but you can’t say it’s not different.

That’s true, FOX is different – the others report the news, FOX reports the right-wing slant on the news. And don’t tell me “their news is unbiased” – even Jon Stewart dissects that falsehood periodically..As for other viewpoints, MSNBC has three hours of Morning Joe Scarborough (R-FL) every day. And FOX has…?

I’m sorry, I don’t see the slightest bit of criticism in his remarks. I’m sure he thinks that’s the proper way to formulate positions, and once they are created, they must be hardened to avoid the slightest correction. At least, that’s what I see the right doing daily.

sandflea, I didn’t say he doesn’t have guts; I said he doesn’t think with his gut. I have no doubt the raid on bin Laden was carefully thought out before it was green lighted. And took a lot of guts to approve.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Yepers, real guts to send a bunch of kids into a Sh*t hole thousands of miles from your secure underground bunker inside the belt-way. And the best part is you could be blame Bush if the whole plan went south. That’s called win-win.

First, if it had failed, you’d have been all over him. As it was, the wingnuts gave Bush credit for it;.Second, Bush didn’t have the smarts/guts to do anything except send his toy soldiers (as he saw them) to war.

The Gosnell trial isn’t comic strip material. The fast and furious debacle started under Bush, so I don’t know why you would want it discussed, considering your agenda. It takes two to tango in presenting a budget and Obama doesn’t have a willing partner. There is no increasing cancer rate to due to abortion. So, I guess you will be waiting for a long time for GT to deal with it in his strip. Why don’t you try some other strip? GT is too rational for such dribble.

In this country, firearms have always been used for personal protection. In the old west. a posse was put together by gathering a “militia” of locals to route out a problem. Personal protection was used against bandits, escaped slaves, and outraged indigenous people. Many groups banded together and when the men went out hunting and trapping, they made sure to leave their loved ones with a firearm and ammo all ready.

Guns are needed in the citizen’s hands even more now than in Jefferson’s time and for the same reasons he espouses.
