PHANTOM: I’m still waiting to see an airship rather than a jet plane – per the title of this adventure (The Aeronaut). As I recall, there was a balloon or something in Mozz’s dream.FUNKY W: Perhaps Les should go along on the cruise to Mexico with Judge Alan Parker, et al. It might help to cure his writer’s block. MARY WORTH: I can’t wait to see how Fate is going to intervene…!
Mary Worth – I’ve heard that the produce department is a good place to meet people. And Tom has to shop for groceries too.A3G – I feel sure Lu Ann will win. I hope the decision was made by a committee before her conversation with the governor.
In Dick Tracy today, is Sam breaking the fourth wall?
Funky: The following (well-written in my opinion) was posted on DailyInk regarding Les’ writer’s block:
Actually, a novel is written from the inside. A novel is the measure and beat of what the characters feel, how they interpret what people do, the realm of their thoughts. A screenplay, however, is written from the outside. The screenplay defines what is seen, and the audience sees what happens and draws conclusions from what they have seen, and how what they have seen makes them feel. There are rare athletes who can “go pro” in more than one sport, and there are rare writers who can handle both formats, but the key word is rare. The more personal the story is to you the harder it is to step outside and see it in a manner that makes a screenplay work.

Phantom: Will the workers leave because of him? And why will the pilot be dead if anything goes wrong? All he does is deliver the stuff.
Mary Worth: What will happen to Beth at the store?
Rex Morgan: How much longer will we repeat the same instructions?

MARY WORTH: Does Beth even need her mother’s approval to go out to the store?
REX MORGAN: The details Rex is giving Milton are imprtant components of taking a blood test.
APT3G: As usual the new characters in this strip are bland looking and this plot is not holding my interest.
