    Early ’60’s, college cafeteria — we discovered that a glass tumbler, dropped just right, would bounce twice on the ceramic tile floor. With practice, we could ALMOST always catch it before it hit the third time! Never tried that with a jam jar …

    haha, night crew reflexes is what it’s called when food falls and you catch it with your foot. I was a day stocker but I had night crew reflexes. It’s actually very easy. Hurts occasionally, but better than having to clean stuff off the floor if something breaks. Sometimes it breaks anyway, like in the case of yogurt containers. Usually, though, catching with your foot’s a good idea and very easy. I’ve rarely missed. But I never tempted fate either!
