    Unless the AD goes too, and quickly, it is just one more sham. The system will give him a few months, maybe a season, for all to forget and Rice will be offered another job.

    This is empirical only, but if you look at Bobby Knight’s career as a coach, he is one shining example. He even slapped his own son on national TV and threw chairs on the court at times. Interestingly, almost none of his players made it to the NBA, and even fewer played significant minutes.

    Quite some time ago, many of us saw a coach that could win more consistently that any other coach in college history, in Coach John Wooden of UCLA. And I never saw that truly great man get even angry at opposing players let alone his own. The current situation in sports in general seems to me to be very sad!
