The chief inspector would laugh at that too.

Somehow, I think Reg would have done this a bit funnier. Even the art isn’t that good today. I’m sure OUR resident artists can do much better !

And then there was the time Andy strolled into the library and asked to borrow a cheque book

Andy, if you need to panhandle go to places like churches or neighbors! Obviously the cops are going to bust you for it which is considering illegal solliciting!!!!!

I agree with You and flagfly both. Current AC is just OK. A fraction of the real thing, on both writing and drawing aspects. However. This Forum has become a rendezvous point, or “Trailhead” if One is a Hiker, for Reg Smythe’s Creation. And for with like-minded Fans. wouldn’t that include y’self? How are YOU Today?

Andy thought He’d have luck at the Cop Shop. I sorta did because He’s good at borrowing things. Me? . . . .doing his part for the Household dynamic

We do it because we enjoy it and most of our fellow posters seem to appreciate our doing it.

Today’s strip would have been much better if Andy’s response in the second panel had been “I’ll have a beer”.

    LOL… This is funny.

He can’t give you money for beer… But he CAN bang you up in the cells for life and let you rot there!

I’m joking… Andy Capp was my childhood hero and is now my adulthood hero.

Years ago, hubby gave me a little wooden Andy Capp (cap, cigarette and all). Even had a little packet with the same type of cigarette. One could be put in his mouth and lit and it would puff smoke rings. Not sure where they are right now. Probably in a buffet drawer in the dining room. He sits on an end table in the living room.

Tell me something, fellow posters:Do you put up old copies of this strip because you don’t find the current ones funny?Truth be told, there is a “same old, same old” quality about them.^^I love the old ones cause Smythe was both a master joke writer and cartoonist; today’s Andy is like a diet drink, not too bad at times, but, definitely tastes watered down; not to mention that while I have seen many of these strips before, there’s quite a few of the REALLY old ones from the 50s that were never sold in book form, here in Canada, so, I’m getting to see Smythe classics that I’ve never seen in 40 years as an AC fan!

Sheesh, you go away a couple of days and when you come back, you are soooooooooooooo lost….oh well, I appreciated the classics, much more so than todays supposed original because the oh, so original supremely sucked on the hind end of a horse’s tail…what happened to having a real cartoonist draw the cartoon?…seriously, this one bit the big apple…

Heating water, adding tab’s of dye, then adding boiled eggs…watching white shells turn to green and blue and yellow and pink and red and a shallow orange and grinning; thinking about the Chocolate Bunny’s that will be accompaning the eggs…sprinkling jelly beans amongst the mess of foil covered chocolate eggs, placing the coconut creme chocolate covered eggs in their green plastic grassy bed, and in the midst of them, adding tne boiled colorful boiled eggs, along with a soft plush bunny and sweet, small, soft chick, then tying helium filled rabbit balloons to the baskets and setting them free hoping each one lands in Britain, Malta, Missouri, Colorado, Canada, California, North Carolina, Tennessee, etc. In other words, everywhere a Capper is, Happy Easter!

Gweedo, This is what I sent to the powers that be at Go Comics…I understand that you have banned Gweedo Murray. Please reconsider your stance in this position. Gweedo is a valued member of GoComics, especially in regards to Andy Capp and a few other comics that he takes an interest in. Gweedo is a treasured online friend and I hate to see this happen to him and to us as fellow “Cappers”. I would appreciate any and all attention you may give to this matter. Sincerely, another “Pro” member,Linda D. Solomon.
