If I’m being introduced to someone before I know they stutter, I may accidently mistake what they’re doing, and prompt what they’re trying to say. I did that once when I was young, and I later felt horrible about it. But with years come (some) wisdom. :D I’ve learned to wait and listen, in conversations. So, Alex handled this well; she gets him.

It usually takes years of marriage to be able to finish your loved one’s thoughts. These two are great together. Should have been a V Day strip.

Is Toggle gaining weight too? Maybe it is just the angle, but it kind of looks like he picked up a little.

“I wonder how DARPA will react to Alex’ “baby bump” (Gad, how I HATE that term!).”I do too, Susan. Expressed this sentiment in today’s “Candorville" comments.

Actually, “word salad” is a clinical term to describe nonsensical, random speech. It is used correctly here, but it is not a term that Troudeau invented.

Did you use the term just so you could vent about how you hate it??

DARPA doesn’t care, they know that some engineers are simply worth it, in fact many facilities operate their own day care centers.

Great thing about itty bitty kids is you don’t have to worry about their capacity for espionage.

DARPA funding is a pain in the backside. They want status reports so frequently that it is difficult to make progress and they almost never deliver the promised funds on time.Run away, Alex! Apply for BES or NSF funding instead.

These two are great! I have to give credit to their upbringing. The world would be a much better place without parents teaching hate

My father was one of those parents that believed a child should be seen and not heard. He was very proud of his education, but knew very little about people. His aunts were all schoolteachers and when they caught him shutting us up when we tried to get into the conversation, they really laid into him. A child will stutter if they think they will get told to shut up, because they will try to get it all out first.

It is a shame that it is so easy to be a parent, that is why there are so many kids with problems.
