Now This is why I never took that long of a vacation, never mind leaving one’s desk for a couple of minutes to go hang around the coffee/tea concession!!! Times really haven’t changed that much in eleven years… Wishing everyone a day filled with good times and great people! ;)

I’ll just ignore the mess on Cathy’s desk and say Hi Cathy Clan, enjoy your day!

I actually DO recall [although it’s rather vaguely!!!] the days when you could leave town for a vacation — whether for one week or two — and everything would be exactly the same when you got back because no one would put they’re work on your desk while you were gone. Why? Because they did it themselves as they were supposed to! There was some junk mail to wade through but there weren’t any e-mail or voice mail messages to return because those things hadn’t been invented yet [although we did have an answering machine]. I sure wish I could go back to those days again . . . they were so much more blissfully peaceful than it is now!!!!!

Being a government auditor, you become really negative about people. People always thinks it is OK to cheat on the gov because it has deep pockets. Having been with my father so many years, I could think like the wolves. I was good at it. I told him when I was 16, I couldn’t take over his businesses. He come back by saying I was smarter than him and people like me better than him. I hurt him bad when I refused to go to the White House upon Nixon’s reelection. But deep down inside, I can’t be that way. I know where Nixon was coming from. Funny, I help get his piece of paper, the peace accord by being at Yankee Station, Gulf of Tonkin. I was crippled by having him control my life. I was lucky I married such a strong woman who taught me how to stand on my feet.
