If you don’t like storms, Summer would be ten times worse.

In Washington State, they have only two seasons: winter and rainy — although they never figured out which is which.…And where I live, it’s just Spring, Summer, and Fog (although they do tend to merge together sometimes…).

Here’s one for dukedoug, JoanHelen, and anyone else living below the equator:Click here: Peanuts (November 11, 1964)Click here: Peanuts (November 3, 1968)Notice how big Snoopy’s head has grown in proportion to his body by 1977 (below). He kept changing for the first 25 years of Peanuts, and then he looked pretty much the same for the last 25 years. Similarly, Calvin and Hobbes changed in appearance during the early years of the strip and then remained pretty much the same. “Comic strip evolution.”Click here: Peanuts (June 8, 1977)

Note: The original date on the Calvin and Hobbes strip above was August 3, 1992. We are reading the reruns 20 years and 3 days after they were published.

Reminds me when I was in college at Ball State Univ. in Muncie, Indiana. We had the ‘Muncie Monsoons’, it made it real interesting getting across the main parking lot from Howick Hall and Studebaker Hall to get to the main campus.

here in central Maine, the general consensus is that we have 8 months of wintah, & 4 months of bad sleddin weather. This year winter just doesnt want to give up. Its still in the 20s through the nights

How did Bill Watterson know that the first 4 panels is what’s predicted to happen in MY neck of the woods today?!? Fortune teller or genius?!? In the event he’s a fortune teller, I need him to come over to my house and help me select numbers for this coming Saturday night’s $95 million dollar Powerball drawing!!!!! ;-)

B/t/w: I may just end up doing panel #5 too. As long as it’s not bad enough outside to lose power or spawn a tornado, I can think of worse ways to spend a stormy-weather day than by reading a really good book while waiting for it to all just “blow over”!!!!! ;-)

My thought exactly, Calvin. I truly hate the constant, strong winds of the desert southwest spring. They make it nearly impossible to enjoy the warmer temperatures, when they occur.
