Too bad you weren’t here from about April to November when he explained the concept of asking the rich to pay their fair share. It’s not particularly complex, but you did have to listen to someone other than Billo and Beck.
After the negotiations that led to the extension of the Bush tax cuts in 2010, Boehor leaned against the back of the elevator and with a sigh and a smile said he had gotten 95% of what he wanted. One of those things is the deal that has us facing sequestration.Payne conveniently ignores the hand Boehnor played in this matter and his cartoon implies that Obama is two faced on this matter, and in total control of the outcome. It is hypocritical and unhelpful. It also feeds the anger of the conservatives who already believe that Obama is working against the interests of the country in which his children are growing. Sadly,C.
Right-wingers like Payne don’t appreciate bipartisanship, maturing of ideas, etc. Not every elected official is frozen in time and space. The 2012 version of Obama is the one who knows what he “gave up” in 2010 and got NOTHING in return for, except maybe his re-election.
The fair share is paying the same tax rate as the middle class does. That is all.The 1% pays taxes at a much lower tax rate. Is it fair that their tax rate is much lower than anyone else’s?
Before the last election Obama had fulfilled 193 of his campaign promises and a whole lot more. Also In 2010 he agreed to keep them to protect the unemployed from losing their un-employment. He didn’t want to agree at all but the GOP took the unemployed and one other group hostage. Like when they held the debt limit hostage. If you think of all the times you have heard of people taking hostages it is never the good guys who do it!.

I am in pain tonight Howie. A lot of pain. This is my third time writing my reply to you.I do NOT use MSNBC as reply to conservative comments just as I ignore comments that reference FOX.I once apologized to you for generalizing and for unwarranted disrespect. You accuse me of parroting the partisan responses of MSNBC hosts, but I SAW the video of Boehnor saying he got 98%, tho I thought he had said 95.The only reason I don’t put you in the same category as Ima, is because you have usually been more respectful than he. This attack upon me is unwarranted. As you have defended me in the past, when liberals attacked me, I do not feel our ‘truce’ is ended, but I must say I thought more of you than this comment warrants. Perhaps it is the meds or the pain speaking as I type this. But I truly believe you are a better man than this post indicates and you have mistakenly attacked me as you would the “regular” liberal poster. You are an intelligent person, Howgozit. I disagree with your comments, but I usually understand your position. I do not understand your recent attacks on me. I do watch Fox news because Thomas Jefferson told me to. In his second inaugural address, Jefferson said we mus listen to the voice of those who “wish to tear down this Constitution” if for no other reason than to know what they are saying.I continue to thank you for reminding me of my goal here. To speak objectively and with as much bipartisanship as I can.Respectfully, tho with difficulty,& this is truly meant….Happy Holidays.C.
That was downright upright. Thanks for showing a piece of your heart. I also recognize that you are speaking your mind in your posts, but often feel they are more abrasive than necessary. Perhaps it’s just how we perceive.
Whenever Obama tries to compromise, the righties try and take that as a flip flop. (Implied here is that flip-flopping is a bad thing, and yet they don’t mind it at all when their OWN does it.)

Either way, the Dems and the media will spin it so the Republicans come out the villians.
