Astonished that others don’t think that Joe isn’t playing Victoria. Answering each question as he thinks she wants to him to respond.

I don’t recall, but has Victoria ever met Danae? Perhaps the hidden card up Joe’s sleeve.

Baloney. Palos, the correct phrase in this situation is: “When you hear hoofbeats in the park, don’t think zebras.” In other words, the most obvious thing is usually the correct one. And, that is: Joe is a wimp. If he had any guts, he would have told her, “You don’t want a man, you want a ventriloquist’s dummy, and I am so out of here!” But, he won’t because (this is typical of him) he doesn’t want to hurt her feelings. Or, he’s just scared to death of what would happen if he stood up to her. He’s just the feminazis’ favorite man.

Hey Palos—I thought the same thing, that he may be playing Victoria. If so, what’s the point? Maybe Joe does have a card up his sleeve. Heading for the waterfall…..

Victoria and Joe are both enjoying this interaction. He knows about the way these questionnaires go, and the fact she mentions “bonus points” means that it is a pre-done one from some women’s magazine, not that she is actually thinking up the questions. And she has met both Danae & Kate way back when she first arrived.

joe may be a wimp but he’s a pretty smart wimp here: he thinks fast with a response to a ridiculous and dangerous question (“uh-oh”) that leaves it up to victoria to determine exactly what “traditionalist” means.

I think the whole point is cynicism about marriage. Yeah Wiley, the last of the true great cynics!

I have never known or met anyone named Vicky or Victoria that was a nice person. This story arc reinforces my experience.
