Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

It’s because the gadgets are less complicated and don’t try to analyze everything a man says or does to find some hidden meaning, Cathy! eye roll

If the premise of this strip is true, why are so many texters, tweeters, and cell-phone yappers are tween girls???
PhoebeDog said, 2 months ago
@SUSAN NEWMAN
Because tween girls are only typically only into technology as a means to an end—the point that allows them to constantly communicate with others. Whereas guys tend to just focus on the technology itself and things like gaming, watching videos, etc.

She forgot to mention that a big attractor of men is to be surrounded by men. For some reason……..
legaleagle48 said, 2 months ago
@summerdog
That’s actually very true. If a man sees you surrounded by other attractive men, he starts thinking that you just might have something going on that’s worth checking out. It’s like the saying that it’s easier to get a job when you already have one than it is to get one when you’re actually unemployed and need one!

The “teeny little cell phone” is now actually getting BIGGER again to accommodate all the constantly-bored people who want larger screens on their phones in order to play video games and watch t.v., movies and videos on! I don’t need — nor do I even want — a cell phone for anything other than to make and receive telephone calls on (I don’t even know how to text!). At age 44, I’m probably one of the world’s youngest technological “dinosaurs” you’d ever meet . . . and my life’s actually a pretty full and happy one despite that fact, too!

Hi, rgcviper!
Hello and Happy Sunday, fellow “Cathy” fanatics! Hope everyone’s had a really nice weekend. Going through some really weird weather here in southern Indiana where I live. Yesterday, the high was 72° and sunny. Today it’s currently 36° and snowing like crazy! There must be a couple of inches on the ground already and there’s no sign it’s going to stop any time soon. IT’S JUST NUTS!! I’m soooooo looking forward to Spring, even though that means it would be weed-pulling time again and I absolutely despise doing yard work. But everything has its price, I guess. You have to “give” in order to “get”!!!!!
;-)

Yup—once again, the [eye-roll] should do it.
I’ve fallen behind on recent comics, and will try to catch up this week.
HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, Clan.

So cute — and I agree it’s time for winter to be over (or at least waning) and somebody should hang (in effigy of course) that groundhog that said it was supposed to be over weeks ago. We got a couple of inches Friday night north of Detroit — which isn’t a big deal, but it ices over and makes it hard to take my walk. Grrrr!
