Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Sanity-saving option – give Charlene a present, but regift what you get from her to Irving. Then regift what Irving gives you, to Marcia. Save Marcia’s gift so that you can start the whole cycle again next year.

I don’t get it; she’s spent hours on end at the mall and she still hasn’t bought gifts for anyone????

Only herself Susan. :-) I’m actually having an early Christmas this year because two of my sons are going out of state with their grandma for the holiday. My little kids will still get presents on the actual day.
Good morning everyone!

I think Cathy’s head is going to explode. Not only will she need to either get everyone gifts or she’ll have to avoid them, and then she’ll have to overanalyze Irving’s gift. This will make her head pop off for sure, and rgcviper’s eyes roll every which way. :-)
Good morning, millie p, Susan and Shyygirl!
Hello to the rest of my favorite nutty clan!
@ hendelca – Scotland sounds fantastic!! That’s on my short list of places to go visit! Have fun and keep us updated!

I’m having that experience right now. I got a message from my mother that I need to tell her what computer product I want for Christmas TODAY — OR ELSE!!!!

“A new one” – that should worry her.

Well, looks like it’s time to hit the mall after work again tonight, Cathy . . . only this time, try shopping for other people instead of yourself this time!!!!!
Hi, rgcviper! :-)
Aaron & Dr. Billy: Still missing you and hoping you’re safe and sound . . . wherever you are!!!!! :-(
lightenup, Anona Mouse, lindz.coop, kittycatpawsare, hendelca and catsarge10: Thank you so much for your kind anniversary wishes Monday (and Tuesday)! GretchensDad and I stayed home and kept things pretty low-key because we already had plans to spend the very next evening out with friends. Not really wanting to fill up on so much restaurant food 2 nights in a row, we just delayed our normal anniversary dinner out until then. We went to Carrabba’s (an Italian restaurant) and had a great time with old and dear friends. All-in-all . . . it was a wonderful anniversary!

For once, I’m totally on Cathy’s side. What in the world is wrong with me?
@lightenup
Your “eye-roll” comment made me laugh, but … see above.
HI, MOM!

Hi Cathyites!! Glad you had a nice anniversary Mom!! I can certainly relate to this comic — I was handed a Christmas gift on November 6 — because the gifter thought she would be out of town for the holidays. Turns out she will not be out of town and will be coming to my home — good thing I didn’t open it. Maybe we should just all give each other the gifts for next year too — and “get it over with.” Yikes!!!
