Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Cathy’s Dad is the only one in this strip with any sense.
How does survive his crazy family??

@SUSAN NEWMAN
Now you know why he told Irving to “buckle up” when Cathy told him and Mom that she and Irving were expecting their first child — and that it would be a girl!

I bought my DH a new hat yesterday for Christmas. At Tractor Supply.

@GretchensMom – We picked Carabbas in Gilbert AZ (part of the Phoenix area) by random choice two years ago. Now we make sure we have at least one meal there every year during the conference I attend. Fantastic food and great service.
Good morning Cathyites. I’m posting way too early in the day as my world is upside down this week. Still working until the wee hours of the morning as usual but waking up way too early since the contractors are here repairing the flood damage we experienced back in October. Hard to sleep in when they are rebuilding the room under you.

Yet another example of Cathy’s and Mom’s good intentions run amok.
hendelca – sorry about your flood damage. :(
Hello, Cathy Clan: the regulars, the visitors, and those we miss and worry about (i.e. Aaron and Billy)

Well, that cost-saving good idea veered sideways and went over the side of a cliff in a hurry! In actuality, Dad’s hat was probably in excellent shape, Mom and Cathy were just looking for any excuse they could find to go shopping. As-a-matter-of-fact, Mom’s in such a hurry that she couldn’t even be bothered to take off her apron before throwing on her coat and running for the door!
Hi, rgcviper!hendelca: My husband used to build Carrabba’s restaurants when he worked for his previous employer. You’re absolutely right about the food and service being excellent. Can’t wait to go there again sometime!
Aaron & Dr. Billy: Missing you both very much!
Hello and Happy Thursday to all my Cathy Clan friends! Only one more work day until the weekend!

Hi Cathyites!! Well at least they know what to buy for each other — maybe they could find some heads with brains to go with the hats.
Sorry it’s taking you so long to repair the flood damage Hendelca. We had renovations done on our cottage in Canada and it took 6 years to complete — so I can empathize. Hope it gets done soon.
