The Court has a wide range of options.

The simplest and fastest: A per curiam (unsigned) paragraph saying having considered the briefs and oral argument, the ruling of the DC Circuit is affirmed.

More likely: A set of at least three different opinions, with one robust one saying Presidential immunity has no basis and would go against the entire Constitutional framework, plus a concurring one (including CJ Roberts and possibly Gorsuch and/or Kavanaugh) saying “there may be immunity for some things, which we’re not faced with deciding today, but not for what the defendant is charged with in this case because violating the Constitutional transition of power could never be considered an official act."

Then a dissent (Thomas, Alito, ??? anyone else?) saying “Presidents are totally immune no matter what.”

It appears that Robert’s Court will allow the Grifter-in-Chief to delay his trials!

    NO, Ariall, absolutely wrong.

The Republican Supreme Court INTERVENED on behalf of Trump, blatantly. And disgustingly.

    .

The Republican SCOTUS could have and SHOULD have accepted the ruling of the lower court, which was very well thought out and accurate. Instead, led by Thomas and Alito, they intervened in order to prevent Trump from facing a trial before the election.

    .

Alito and Thomas are, of course, MAGAt heroes and poster boys for MAGAt corruption.

This cartoon is a misrepresentation, implying the scotus judges are trying to get rid of the case and pass it to someone else.

That’s not the case. They wanted this case, because they want trump to be in office before a verdict is arrived at, so trump can have his attorney general throw it out.

They could have passed on accepting the case, but the magat judges accepted it.

They could have heard the arguments quickly, the way they heard the Colorado ballot arguments, but they declared they wouldn’t do so until April 25, the latest possible day they could.

And finally, at long last, when they do announce, they will almost certainly send the case back to the lower court, and trump is saved.

The other thing this cartoon got wrong is comparing the actions of the supreme court justices to some kind of game, and this is anything but that.

More likely, it’s time for months of oligarch-financed sabbatical retreats for sincere and heart-felt judicial Omphaloskepsis (aka navel gazing). Febrile storm-braining to help Uncle Daddy.

The country outside of brainwashed MAGA creeps know it’s pure BS, but the MAGA SCOTUS is desperate to put a shine on the still-steaming piles of juicy coprolite served up by argle-bargle legal wordsmiths who still have a license..

A ruling on the legality is not what the trump team want, all they need is to delay a decision for take the win.

So is this MAGA SCOTUS really trying to waste the next few months in delay, delay, delay, navel-gazing to find some kind of argle-bargle BS that, gee willikers Wilbur, maybe sort of it’s okay for a President to have a hit man assassinate a political rival or stage a coup?

But he can be impeached for it – by a two thirds majority in a corrupt “jury” of Senators who are co-conspirator crime-family cronies… as if THAT would ever happen.

I’m betting that, after Biden wins re-election, they’ll “officially” announce the obvious.

It is simple….no one is above the law, no matter who you are; thePres, you, or me!! Unfortunately, criminals like Thomas and Kavanaugh, will side with Trump.

Seriously, the Roberts Court’s primary purpose in taking the ridiculous idea that the American president either needs or even wants immunity was and still is a ruse to delay accountability for Trump’s various crimes in the lower courts – it’s all about delaying federal trials until the November elections – after which there will be enough judicial turmoil over Trump’s losing the election that immunity won’t matter…

The Roberts Court will go down in history as one of the three linchpins in the destruction of democracy in the United States…

The other TWO linchpins being “Moscow” Mitch McConnell and of course, the head “pinhead” himself. Donnie John – (bet you didn’t know there could be more than one linchpin, did you? On something as big and complicated as America, you need multiple points of destruction for the collapse to work.)
