It’s instructive to go back and read Everett True strips from 1918 where he is explaining his point of view to people who e.g. refuse to wear masks, and realise there is truly nothing new under the sun.
Countries keep going through a rise and fall of the virus because they don’t hold onto the decrease in cases and deaths long enough to insure they are in fact safe. Until we are more vaxxed and hold onto the low rate of the virus for a longer time, we’ll not reach herd immunity.
Some experts do suggest that the Covid viruses may be a part of life like that of influenza. On the positive side, the biochemical technique used to fight the Covid virus might be used to fight other diseases, even cancer and alzheimer’s.
If we could get the whole world vaccinated, we’d stand a good chance. As it is, with large unvaccinated pockets, much as I was thinking next year might be better, I’m starting to rethink that thought.
anti-vaxxers are anti-lifers……they are living the la dolce vita without a care in the world……so sad and those who have been vaccinated will pay in the end.

In a world with tolerable intelligence and social behavior, yes, it will end. In the real world, yes, but after a FAR longer and more unpleasant time.

If the COVID don’t git ’em, the climate change will. (With apology and thanks to Merle Travis, writer of "Sixteen Tons.)

99% of those in hospitals with Covid are unvaccinated. I’m going to keep wearing my mask so people don’t think I’m a Republican!
