Oh, yes, and GOP wouldn’t have said a word about surrender, appeasement, etc. The Democratic peacenik base would have been pleased, but Obama preferred to act like an adult and buck the extremist wing of his party. How many of the GOP hopefuls are willing to do the same? I know of one, for sure.
I seem to remember “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” somewhere in the past. “He tried to kill my daddy!” How many daddies have been killed to avenge Bush’s daddy? This is the worst Texas family feud ever.
If you really believe this, towerwarlock, you have real emotional, intellectual and spiritual deficit problems. I guess the other possibility is that you are 10 years old, have learned to type, and believe everything your tea party daddy tells you to believe. Please, please, either grow up or seek professional help.
Actually, Bertram Russell (the philosopher) said something like,:“This is the way the world shall end. This is the way the world shall end. This is the way the world shall end. Not with a bang but with a whimper.”
The real FACT is that GHW could have easily prevented the whole bloody mess in 1991 if, as Saddam gathered his troops on the Kuwaiti border, and asked Bush for “permission” to invade and take BACK Iraqi land, and terminate loans from Kuwait’s jerkoffs, Bush had just said, “no”. Instead, three times twice from State, and once directly, Bush said: “It’s an Arab to Arab thing, and we won’t interfere.” It wasn’t until after the debacle began that Margaret Thatcher pointed out to GHW at Camp David: YOU’RE AN IDIOT!!
I agreed with her assessment then, and haven’t seen anything since to alter it. Well, except that thanks to GHW betraying Saddam, then the Shia in the south who just might have overthrown Saddam internally (NOT that that would have been “all good”) a well deserved contract was placed on him, and “Sonny” felt the need to get even stupider in dealing with Iraq. (Okay, IF “W” wasn’t stupid, why did HE do exactly what his DAD said was a truly bad move, and would lead to an endless and “unwinnable” war?)
mnsmkd, Bertrand Russell? Really? Reads more like poetry than philosophy. By someone like, oh, maybe T.S. Eliot…
(Although there’s speculation that Eliot’s wife was having an affair with Russell, so maybe Tommy heard it from Viv who heard it from Bertie; the “Telephone Game” as conducted through post-coital pillow-talk. Or maybe Viv was alluding to Tom’s inadequacies in the sack, compared to Bert.)
^I was one of many thousands protesting, and writing, in a vain attempt to STOP this stupid war— as Tonto said, “Whattaya mean WE, white man?”
^^RV, as they say, even a stopped idiot can be right once a year? I kinda link it to Ron Paul, who even though crazy comes up with a few good points, and appears saner than his progeny.

Obviously, this towering intellect is incapable of rational thought.
I wonder if it is because he hates Obama . . . or it is the reason that he hates Obama.
