You have invented a new proselytizing religion so you feel free to lecture everyone about their life styles. My religion asks me to proselytize also but I’ll give it a pass this morning.

Worship how you want but leave me alone.

rather than wag fingers at drivers, what we need to do first is get rid of the need for cars – get rid of drive-thrus and the like all together. That means dense, walkable and bikeable cities with good public transportation. And returning vast amounts of suburbs back to nature. Until then, we are basically just making half-*ssed efforts with minimal impact.

Nova had a great episode about DNA last night, explaining that the climate known to man is a two million year anomaly; and the global warming “catastrophy” is just the Earth returning (fossil fuel driven) to a warmer climate that has been the norm for the last 300 million years or so. It described a thriving pre-glacial ecosystem and how civilization can adapt to rising temperatures.

But don’t invest in Florida real estate.

I’m surprised that they put on their coats and got out of the heated coach.

“Whataboutism” like this plays right into the hands of the major polluters. Researchers running internal combustion engines while determining the effects of climate change are multiple orders of magnitude smaller polluters than the real ones. Marginalizing them like this reduces the impact and perceived legitimacy of their work, and allows the big problems to continue.

All humans should exit the poles and leave them totally unscathed for 50 years or so. That may help. The “research” stations melt the ice to make water. And use it to grow crops in heated greenhouses.

My truck has that feature. I turn it off when I start up. Might make that AGM battery last five years. Green is the pipe dream of wackos
