Buy him an analogue non-digital faced watch with hands on it. For extra fun, get Wilberforce a slide rule. Probably be necessary to explain the slide rule is no a mislabeled ruler.
My watch tells the time but I wear it for my heartrate, stress level and EKG reading, plus I can make calls on it.. Starting to feel like Elroy Jetson. Just waiting for the car that turns into a briefcase to ease up all this dam NYC traffic that the idiots decided to put dining tables in the zones designated for parked cars!
oo… walked into that one.I find it interesting that young’uns don’t wear watches (i don’t either, but I’m retired) while rich guys have drawers full of uber-expensive watches they wear as jewelry
They could put a clock or two on the walls. I am tech oriented, but it’s so much easier to look at the wall than to grab my phone or dig up my watch under long sleeves. Plus I have an Echo, which shows the time. But he will get a smartwatch or phone I am guessing! Is he young enough to use the ruse that Santa is bringing it for free?
I just replaced the batteries in two of the watches I regularly wear. Both are analog, although the Timex does have a digital display as well. I have to find somebody to give the wind-up Bulova (1960s), and the Elgin pocket watch a good going over. It will probably cost more than either watch is worth.
Then when I am at an amusement park do all the kids with phones see my watch and ask me for the time?
Answer: it’s a whole lot easier to take a quick look at your wrist than to pull a phone out of your pocket and then try to find the time buried among the widgets on the screen.

There is this cool device where you just look at your wrist to check the time. You don’t have to pull anything out of your pocket and turn it on.

A “smart” phone is only “smart” as the user is!! And so far, I have seen very few users that are “smart!!”

That’s the way they do it downstairs. The only real clock down there is on the stovetop.

What goes around comes around. Prior to the Second Boer War men preferred pocket watches. Now we’re back to pocket watches.

I still wear a watch. I’m not one of those people with a death grip on my phone and who goes through life one-handed. :)

the BEST part of my decades of Apple devices was using GarageBand to create a silent ringtone!
Now it’s like having a pocket computer without the interference of a phone being involved!
