Stone Soup by Jan Eliot for September 26, 2014
Transcript:
Val: How's the move going? Holly: Good... Holly: What do I do with the old lady stuff Gramma left behind? Val: You put it in a box marked MY PRECIOUS GRANDMOTHER and keep it in a place of honor in your new room. Holly: Enough with the guilt already. Val: I sound just like her! The room must be working its magic on me.
Note to Jan: I follow your strip in my local paper so I’m not a frequent commenter here. In general I like Stone Soup, even if Evie did put words in her husband’s mouth the other day. But I have to say…ENOUGH! Holly has become so obnoxiously self-centered, dismissive, disrespectful and rude and is old enough that she’s no longer funny. This is the stereotype of the teen years that does not need to be perpetuated or legitimatized. Please can she tone down???
Note to other commenters: Yeah, I know: If you don’t like it don’t read it. I’m about there.
