Holly: Are we the only ones up? Alix: So far. Holly: And we have to WAIT for all the sleepyheads?! Alix: That's what Mom said..."Or else." Holly: I wonder what it would take to set off the smoke alarm. Alix: Let's light the fire and forget to open the flue!!
It’s a Catch-22. The parents have to wait up until long after midnight before the kids wind down enough to fall asleep so Santa can come – and then the kids are up before dawn wanting to open presents and the parents are zonked out because they’d only had about three hours of sleep by that time.
