Man: Can I call you back? There's another call coming in... BEEP Man: NO! REALLY?! THEN what'd she say?? Man: Hey, HI! Just sitting in a coffee shop reading the paper... ESPRESSO Joan: Excuse me...could you - Man: Hold on. Some rude woman is interrupting me.
I am not sure who is really rude in this comic. I do not think it is appropriate to expect others to be quiet ( I do not mean talking loudly on their cell phones) in public settings such as the coffee shop or a restaurant. I was told to shut up at a tea room once because a woman sitting alone reading. I told her I planned to continue talking to my friend ( not on the phone) and having a good time because that is why I came to the tea room and if she wanted to read to go to the library. My friends meet regularly at a coffee shop and go to talk and meet each other and they have been told to shut up. They also told the person that they could go home, to the library or to their work place if their talking was bothering them. Sorry I think a coffee shop or a restaurant is not a place to do your work find a more appropriate location.
