Gramma: Will you keep working after you and Wally get married, Dear? Joan: I don't expect Wally to support me! He's counting on my income as much as I'm counting on his! Besides - I like my work! It's part of my identity. It's bad enough I'll be expected to sing on teh line labeled "spouse." And people will expect me to change my name!! Give up my work and life in Wally's shadow?? Never. Gramma: Ask a simple question, get a synopsis of women's studies 101. Joan: I heard that.
