Val: So. What did you buy today? Joan: What's it to you? Val: I figure as long as you owe me money, I have an investment in how you spend yours. Albacore? Plain old tuna isn't good enough for you? And real butter? Waht about buying generic brands? And using the coupons on the fridge? Joan: Loaning me money does not give you control over my life!! Val: You went out for coffee? We can make coffee at home for pennies!
The borrower is always slave to the master. Never ‘lend’ family or relatives money. If you can afford to loan it, you can afford to gift it, because you’ll very rarely get it back.
