That would be more convincing coming from you standing on the floor and opening the door for that bug, Rose.

Really/Seriously…?? In this day and age, I could have sworn girls are no longer afraid of bugs…

I catch spiders and put them outside. I see no need to kill them, especially if they eat mosquitoes. I actually like spiders.

I grab a paper towel and squash that bug and trash it. If it’s in my house uninvited I have every right to kill it.

I try to leave the ones that bite you a wide berth. I use a vacuum cleaner to get the wasps that fly around.

My hubby used to be frantically afraid of wasps and bees. I taught him how to carefully catch them in a glass and release back into the wild. : ) Makes us happy.

I will not kill spiders or wasps/bees. I make a deal with them, they don’t bite/sting me and I won’t kill them. I get them in a paper towel and put them outside. So far, I’ve never been bitten or stung. I’ve even had a couple of baby snakes show up….I live in a wooded area……and have done the same with them. Flies and mosquitoes however are different story.

Unrealistic. A cat’s instinct is to stalk and eat the bug.

I also take most visitors indoors to the door for release (bees, wasps and even the tiny geckos that like my garden walls. I keep the house open to fresh air in these moderate seasons and any flies or mosuitoes (or worse, ants or roaches) that make it in through the garage etc will totally face death.

Spiders can stay where they are, even in the house. But yellow-jacket wasps have to go. I’ve been stung by them too many times, and they will attack without warning,

Most cats I have met… use bugs and spiders for play time. Before trying to eat.

We used to have a wolf spider in my closet. These are almost the size of a hand, and they don’t make webs. We even named him. Spiders don’t live forever, though. Sad…

No…this was definitely a wolf spider. What I should have said was he was about the size of the palm of your hand. Not just his body, but his legs spread out can fill your palm. Dead, they curl up into an ugly little ball. Not that they are so pretty in life, but they catch and kill bugs and are not messy.

I’m surprised at no mention of the scorpion. Although I realize they kill other insects and eat them, if I find one in the house it’s a goner! (Of course, in Mexico they are rather frequent visitors.)

Actually, that is completly realistic of a cats behavior if the insect that has been seens is a scorpian or a sun spider. Creepy little things tha scare me half to death. And a cat I used to have. Scared him more then it did me. Like on a scale of 1 to 10 I was at 100, but the cat was at 110.
