The republican leadership is calling for an end to the whole mess, since that’s what TRAITORS do. Sweep the whole thing under the carpet and pretend that it NEVER happened!
Years ago I read Babel-17, a sci-fi novel on how a language could be used as a weapon and I have a creepy feeling that our political parties are doing something similar to divide the country so that their real agenda can be carried out while the two partisan divisions argue with each other; because English words now have two opposing connotations such that a word has the power to divide us apart. Simple words like liberty, freedom, and truth have the same dictionary meaning but politically can be complete opposites. That we have no standards that both parties agree to, is no accident and is a way keep the affiliates of two political ideologies at each other throats, while the wealthy are being accommodated by the “opposing” politicians.
Reconciliation, deliberation, cooperation and compromise are promoted as weaknesses not strengths. Building on the opposing party’s ideas is shunned - you must tear them done and start over without questioning the lack of progress - and the majority of the population (45% independents) must be governed under the edicts of one of the two minority political parties ( each about 25% of registered voters) as they have no means of paying attention to what the public actually wants.
I can’t imagine being a conservative these days. Constantly forced to deflect to something other than the orange menace they actually voted to embarrass and demean and work against their own self-interests.
n a recent Quinnipiac University poll, respondents were asked what word immediately came to mind when they thought of Donald Trump: The No. 1 response was “idiot.” This was followed by “incompetent,” “liar,” “leader,” “unqualified,” and finally, in sixth place, “president.” Superlatives like “great” and a few unprintable descriptives came further down on the list.
he didn’t serve up an impeachment smorgasbord, just brought another dish to the table. It certainly wasn’t a nothing-burger. The truth seems to have a political slant, but if this turns into a he said – he said, are you really going to believe the birther, tax dodging pussy grabber? Or the bi-partisan head of the FBI? Again, take a look at your party affiliation before you answer.

The Republicans’ ox is getting gored and will be on the menu for the House and Senate before this is over.

Who would want to defend the indefensible?

Me thinks the truth is somewhere in between.

Obstruction of justice is an impeachable offense.
