The October Surprise
Donkey: I'm surprised Obama did so poorly!
Elephant: I'm surprised Romney did so well!
I agree with both of them!
Debates aren’t won by telling the truth, they are won by not allowing your opponent to refute your statements.
I see the first debate as a draw…. Romney interrupted Lehrer, Obama calmly stuck to his script… If MR is the best the GOP can do (& they accepted him reluctantly) what can I say…. I prefer the professor
How many Etch-a-Sketches has Romney gone through? I’m still waiting for Rush’s head to explode trying to wrap his brain around Romney’s 47% walk back.
“I surprised Romneys relentless assualt of lies was considered a success.”-Relentless assault of lies: expected.Considered a success: shocking!-Unless that is what Americans want. War, huge taxes on the poor and middle class, and a free ride for the 1%; the job creators that don’t create jobs in America. Don’t invest in America, but hoard in bank accounts overseas.
Sad to say, you have it right. It is better to have the truth and know what you will get instead of lies and deceit and not know what you will get.
@SusanCraig and Radish….your skewed leftwing versions are false, and the majority of viewers disagree with what you claim.-Obama began on Question #1 to filibuster, and spoke 4 minutes more than Romney in the 90 minute debate…causing moderator Lehrer to omit the final segment he had planned…-Obama’s “performance” was like a culprit dragged to the Principle’s office…hangdog, looking at the floor, making notes, smirking, and 3 times repeating the lie that Romney’s Plan was for Billions of tax cuts for the Rich….an outright lie, and he is still repeating it in his campaign stops, where Romney hasn’t a chance to defend himself, like a BULLY and a COWARD that cannot attack an opponent in a more equal setting like a debate.…. Obama’s false claims to budgets that “save money” have been proven unbelievable….using double-counting in both “savings” and “spending” plans…..even CBO analysis proved that.…Romney plans a REVENUE NEUTRAL reform of tax rates by lowering the rates and eliminating the loopholes that are mostly used by the “Rich” taxpayers….with congress which is responsible for the legislation, Romney plans adjustments to keep revenues to a lower % of GDP because 4 years of Obama have sent that % skyrocketing!
seems to me that R said “cut taxes”, then said “eliminate the’ deductions”…doesn’t seem like a break at all
This shows how ill-informed even the media is. Some of us could’ve told you 4 years ago, Romney could eat Obama for lunch in a debate.
Do you always believe what Obama and the media say? You do not always get what a party is when you vote them in. The current administration is a good example as this is not anywhere near what John F Kennedy or William Jefferson Clinton brought us. So you cannot always say it will be the same especially when the person is trying to tell you the differences that you and the media do not want to hear.
Bingo. When the middle class has spending power, the economy flourishes. Policies that relegate the middle class to have just enough money to pay bills DOESN’T do diddly squat. If Mitt’s tax plan were to give 1,000 people in the top 1% $250,000 in tax cuts, we wouldn’t see any changes in the economy. Why? Because the “investors” still wouldn’t see much of an appreciable return because the people who actually use what they invest in aren’t spending more money. If you give 100,000 people in the middle class $2,500, you’ll see a LOT happen.-The rich don’t spend their money in a way that really benefits the economy. Putting money into hedge funds and simply turning money into more money will only do what happened in 2008. The vast majority of buying and spending is done by the middle class, and that’s how businesses grow. You need demand to drive the need for supply, not the other way around. You hire people to provide goods and services for what is needed. You don’t hire people to give them money to buy what you’re producing. Demand-side economics is a far better plan.-And where are the regulations that Obama supposed has enacted that are keeping people from opening hardware stores or fast food franchises? The EPA is only a hindrance on heavy industry.
I wouldn’t say Mitt lied, but considering he will have to have a servant open all doors for him, from a block away, to keep from crunching his nose, Gipetto should get a few laughs out of of the wooden boy Karl Rove and the Koch brothers built..
