Rat: I have a new strategy for answering email. Goat: What's that? Rat: I don't answer it for months. Then the sender thinks I'm mad at them and starts wondering what they did wrong. And odds are, if they think hard enough, there is something they've done wrong in the past. So eventually, they'll write again and ask if I'm mad about whatever it is they think they might have done wrong. Goat: And odds are, if they think hard enough, there is something they've done wrong in the past. So eventually, they'll write again and ask if I'm mad about whatever it is they think they might have done wrong. Goat: And you tell them no? Rat: I tell them yes, even though I have no idea what they did. And they offer to do something nice. Like take me to dinner, which I accept. Then after the dinner. They tell me what wonderful time they had and that they're still glad we're still friends. Goat: That's shameful. Rat: No. Shameful is the fact that they tell me all that in an email... And I don't respond. Goat: Wonderful. Rat: Over 400 free meals and counting.
It’s hard to believe that Rat has any friends to begin with.
