Former Vice President Dick Cheney: Lissen - all that stuff you've written there is a load of crap. Let me edit it for you. Punk: Keep your grubby paws off the page, sir. The recorder of history is honored with a visit from ex-V.P. Cheney.
Not quite, petergrt. He established Medicare, started to support civil rights (he was nervous about the South bolting, which it did anyway), and laid the groundwork for what LBJ was able to put into place with the political capital of JFK’s assassination. Furthermore, he was a big believer in diplomacy, as you might expect from his family history. The main point of alignment was support for a strong military, which despite Republican smears, is held by both parties – and wasn’t well upheld by Bush in recent years.
