Arthur, today is our rest day, so we’re not driving except to the nearby Wal-Mart.
No is expected today. Yesterday was dry as well. We’ve got all the wet stuff, including the mat from the back of the car laid out to dry. It was all pretty well saturated.
I have kept all of the stops we have made on this trip as favorites on the weather app on my computer. Looking at it this morning makes me glad we have moved inland. High surf warnings in Maine, flooding in Virginia and hurricane warning in North Carolina. Moving west, the weather alert in Vegas is “Fire weather” which means strong winds and very low humidity (15% at the moment, but it was 7% last night). That I can live with.
We are in a very pretty campground. It’s a well cared for KOA, and has lots of trees everywhere. None of those middle-of-an-open-field type spaces. It will be a nice place to rest today. Outdoors. With no rain. Yesterday when we arrived, Pinto got out and took off up the road with Michael following. After we finished setting up, we took both cats out on their leashes for a long walk. Then later, he managed to open the door while we were outside and they both got out again. Smokey was easy to catch because she still has that kitten fascination to stop and check out everything around her. Pinto went visiting the 5th wheel next door. He was up on their steps communing with their dog through the screen. Even after being out three times, he still sat at the door demanding we open it for him.
Rita, I’m glad your daughter is safe. Be safe, MacPheeters. You are in my prayers.
