Why not just go natural? A lotta birds go bald and are totally chill about it!... Like... Um... The bald Eagle... Bald eagles aren't really bald... They're just pre-maturely gray. Ok. Fine... A real bald bird... Um... Ok... How about turkeys? Turkeys are totally bald and they look... Well they... Um... Ok. Bad example... What about vultures? Huh?... Maybe you could pull off a kind of goth look or... Um... No?
mggreen…didn’t get back in time to answer you yesterday… So I hope you see this…
Thanks for the vote of confidence… so nice of you…. Hope you’re not disappointed that, while I like both, I kinda prefer Monty to Robotman…but then, I haven’t seen every strip of either.
Neither was in my local paper… I started reading Monty on Comics.com around 2005, and I’ve read it just about every day since… and a lot of both comics in online archives.
The trouble with Robotman was that he had different phases…. he was once a cute little children’s book and video character.
When United Media hired Meddick to draw him in a comic strip, at first it was rather cutesy and family-oriented…then he took it in more interesting directions. When the publishers took back the rights to Robotman, and essentially abandoned the character, Meddick was freer to create some wilder scenarios with his own characters…. not that he hadn’t already started that.
Also, I never did care for the look of Chimpy or Dave (Mr. Pi.)But I love EB3… though he’s had a lot of changes in appearance. I think I preferred him like this:
