The Kurds have been the most aggressive in fighting for interests of the United States (and themselves). Even in the Iraq war, while soldiers from the southern and western parts of Iraq often proved cowardly, it was always the Kurds who could be counted on.

More brave heroes sacrificed on the blood-stained altar of Trump’s greed.

While I, like many other anti-war PROgressives do support bringing our troops home from endless Middle East wars (other than as part of U.N.-sanctioned international peacekeeping operations), it has to be done in a responsible judicious manner — NOT by just abandoning our strongest allies and making rash moves, without even consulting military leaders, because foreign dictators (in whose countries you happen to own hotel properties) demand it.

We need the full UNEDITED transcripts of Trump’s call with Erdogan right before his treachery. What business deal did Erdogan offer Trump? Dirt on Biden? A threat to shut down (or take over) Trump Tower Istanbul?

We also need to see the full UNEDITED transcripts of Trump’s call with Putin (made prior to his call with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky) and Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia as well as the full UNEDITED version of the call with Zelensky.

Trump’s decision to stab our ally in the back was done last Monday, October 7. Putin’s birthday. A big gift to Putin in terms of helping his ally, Bashar al-Assad of Syria, and his customer Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, who is supposedly our NATO ally, but who bought military equipment from RUSSIA instead of the United States.

    Trump’s treachery borders on treason.

I would be actually pleased to have the US troops all the way out. But I’m actually peeved that we’re leaving in the lurch our staunchest allies in the area. It cannot be a good thing for the US’s reputation to do this.

Didn’t we royally screw over the Kurds after the first Iraqi war as well? I’m surprised they trusted the US this time around. If sure as hell wouldn’t have.

History has shown this far too often. It’s like dating someone who breaks your heart every time – America just screws ‘em & leaves ’em. And often the sex ain’t all that voluntary.

How many cases of blood for money do we need. The man is responsible for all the Kurdish deaths.

You don’t have to wait for the transcript of the phone call between Erdogan and the resident. Here’s the essence of what it’ll say:

Erdogan: “You know we hate the Kurds, right? And, because they’ve been helping you eradicate ISIS, they’ve bunched together nicely in northern Syria, where they make a nice fat, juicy target for us. The only problem is that, if we start laying waste to that area, as quickly and ruthlessly as we really want to, there are a bunch of US troops in the way who might get hurt, and we don’t want to piss off the USA any more than we have to.”

Mr. “Let’s Make a Deal”: “No worries. I’ll see to it that all our troops are pulled out of there right away. But, you know, that would be doing you a favor. What’s in it for me?”
