I believe Ramirez is wishing/hoping that Bernie or Warren will be too extreme for most US voters and so The Orange Maroon’s run for a second term will be powered by outrage over the “extreme” views of the Democrats.
Lets break it down: Ramirez is paid to throw grit into the wheels of democracy, particularly Democrats. And he’s not stupid (though imo, he is very very wrong-headed about many things). So he’s able to do two things with this cartoon:
1: Pander to the base who expects their guy to win by a huuuuge margin.
2: Push the idea that actually liberal candidates will lose (by a huuuuuge margin); so the Democrats will be better served by choosing a “middle of the road” candidate. This would, naturally, piss off a large fraction of the Democrats who want actual positive change from the Dubya era; and who see that the current value of “middle” is far to the right of traditional Democratic values. And that in turn might split the liberal vote well enough to cause a loss. Not to mention that… oh, say, Biden, is pretty much of a doofus who’s as likely to make a serious error as not, and who is an old white guy.
Ah, a tour of Trump’s favorite fantasies. I know lots of Democrats, I don’t know any who hold the views Trump ascribes to them. Looks like a lot of Projection, to me. Not that Trump is out to “destroy America”, but that’s what his policies are doing—polluting, wasting, turning a blind eye to real needs. “I didn’t know the gun was loaded” is one of the more pathetic excuses. . . .

You say that as if Trump doesn’t give people reasons to fight him every day.

You think Trump’s opponents are extreme, Mr Ramirez? Check out so many of his supporters!

As Trump would say, you need to be locked up Ramirez. Seek help.

That is incorrect. The Liberal/Progressives we see are main stream. The Reich extremists are now painting both sides with that brush.

Trump “launched” his re-election bid the day he entered the White House; and if politeness, honesty and morality are “extreme”…
