Welcome back; strong statement.

President Biden subscribes to the idea that “A rising tide lifts all boats”.

Republicans believe we should raise a few yachts, and then the other boats will follow.

Our most productive, prosperous years in history were when the top tax rate was 90%.

I’m not opposed to bumping up the tax rate on the uber rich, but in all fairness the above “graph” should include not just share of income but share of taxes, as well. The 1% noted above pay roughly 40% of all income taxes. The top 10 percent cover around 70% of all income taxes paid and the top 25% pay 85+ percent of all income taxes. Expand it to the top 50% – they pay 97% while the bottom 50% pay the remaining 3%. The bottom 50%’s tax burden has dropped significantly over the past 40 years from roughly 7% down to 3%.

It’s not as inequitable as many think.

But the tax break GOP needs the kickbacks from the rich to get reelected.

There’s a button. If you push it, all of world hunger and climate change will be solved and you and everyone else will have stable access to healthcare and a safe home.

BUT!

All of the world’s billionaires and multi-millionaires will lose some of their money and power.

The GQP loved Ike so much. Bring back his tax rates. 90% above the first million.

And I really wish the media would also start adding that once you tax the rich and get money to the poor, they will SPEND it and all the money spent on rent and groceries and consumer goods ends up back in the bank accounts of the RICH who own the companies and rental properties. I just want the money to keep circulating!

When the kid who asked if you want fries with that pays more in taxes than the wealthy, it’s time to make some changes. Start with the ones who cut taxes to the wealthy.

republiCONs rammed thru huge tax cuts for the multi millionaires and big corporations because they are the ones that fund there campaigns and now we are supposed to just live with that after those jerks were booted out of office. yeah I don’t think so.

Exactly! Americans have been a financial life support for the Lazy, Useless Plutocratic Parasites for far too long!

It isn’t the “take an aspirin for that headache, take an aspirin for that broken leg” comparison. It is about “how much does one really need?” if you subtract 2/3 of 3B from 3Billion, if you subtract 1/3 of 90K from 90K, and have the results to spend in the current economy….see the difference?

I once saw this bumper sticker on somebody’s car. “Billionaires shouldn’t exist”. I agree with that sentiment. How much money does one person or one family really need?

A billion seconds is around 31.5 years. A million seconds? 11days a number we might envision 100K 27 hours and a bit take a third of each, and you have one tax rate for all, equitable? I would say no, the price of gas and groceries is the same across the board.

Fifteen percent. No deductions, no loopholes.

Tax the rich- or eat them.
