First the Repubs kept Franken from being seated for 9 months, then Kennedy went out sick and died to be replace by Brown.Mandating the purchase of private insurance was the Republican answer to what they perceived would be a single-payer system proposal from Hilary Clinton in the 90’s. Something the Republicans would clearly like to forget. Just like they want to forget that they wouldn’t ratify the Kyoto treaty because it didn’t include a market-based cap-and-trade system.Now they got what they proposed and they’re decrying it as socialist.
