Umm…. because the pipeline company is violating a treaty by putting a pipeline through sovereign lands and endangering their water supply. What the pipeline company and US government is doing is illegal. Had they pulled this on Canada, it would have started a war. The only real difference is the Indian tribes don’t have a military to defend themselves with.

define progress. All the modern luxuries in the world are worthless if you can’t breathe the air, drink the water or grow food. Much of our so called progress has harmed these essential needs, without which there is no future.
