As much as I was angry about the animal abuse I still wish there had been a way to continue the circus tradition. I can’t believe a humane method of training animals couldn’t be found, especially with the thousands of years of experience we’ve had to do better. I loved Ringling Brothers as a child and so did my daughter. They will be missed.

They STOPPED using elephants. They created a sanctuary for their existing elephants — they have a large breeding population, after all. There is a lot more debate than people think about whether they were “abusing” animals or not. They made major changes in the past few years to make sure they didn’t, then took out the elephants. (Incidentally, Ringling always had a traveling vet – not a human doctor – as part of the show.)Then what happened? People stopped buying tickets. Too bad some of those people who claimed they just wanted to stop the use of animals didn’t actually GO to the circus. This is a tragic loss for America. And a win for those evil SOBs at PETA, who like the idea of testing drugs on humans, who lie about animal abuses but are happy for human beings to be abused, who fund terrorist groups like the Animal Liberation Front…

Sure it will. Because venues want their elephants to go out of control and start attacking trainers, the audience, and the big top.
