I remember when my muffler came loose and slid down the tail pipe. Dragging AND tremendously loud engine sounds…

I once had a car which had the entire rear shock absorber assembly break loose from the frame.

It didn’t Drag, though. Instead it dropped down onto the rear axle housing and smashed the brake lines.

My first clue was when I was exiting the interstate and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I ended up sliding down the exit ramp Sideways. It was a Circular exit ramp which was actually Good because when the car began sliding sideways instead of rolling on the wheels, it slowed the car down almost to a stop.

I stomped on the Parking brake to bring it to a stop and used that long enough to get it to the nearest service station. Luckily, that exit ramp had several to choose from.
