The first thing Saddam did when taking power was have those in his OWN Ba’athist party he didn’t trust, taken out and shot. Something for Republicans to think about?
Donald Trump blamed former President George W. Bush for the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
After Florida senator Marco Rubio said that Bush had “kept us safe,” Donald Trump shot back: “How did he keep us safe when the World Trade Center came down?”
“I lost hundreds of friends, the World Trade Center came down during the reign of George Bush,” Trump said, while the crowd’s boos nearly drowned him out. “That is not safe…”
Donald Trump took things to a new level. He not only called the decision to go to war “a big, fat mistake” (and, post-debate, proclaimed it “a disaster”) but also said: “They lied. They said there were weapons of mass destruction. There were none, and they knew there were none.”
sodom (mis spelling deliberate) hussein was a friend of the usa until he ran afoul of the corporations and wall street. His absence, and the disbanding of the Iraqi military, enabled the rise of daesh (ISIL). IMHO, this was deliberate on the part of the west so that the religious nuts would have free reign and not be crushed by sodom hussein and the Iraqi military.
Hussein wan’t even that good at killing terrorists. he sponsored, harbored and funded killers and jihadists including the current chief of al-Qaeda. He even plotted the assassination of Bush Sr. Trump not only does not understand foreign affairs, but he loves dictators. Much like the questions of his connections with white power groups – is this ignorance or does he know he is siding with Saddam Hussein? It is certainly disgusting, but no longer surprising that the Republican party would align itself with the dictator. The disgraceful response from Ryan was Trump was “taken out of context”This just validates the Republican party values itself over the country, even to the point of switching sides just 8 years after starting a preemptive war, you are now singing the praises of the dictator you had put to death.

The terrorists were Kurdish and Shia civilians, including women and children.

Saddam used Sarin and Chlorine gas, against both Kurds and Iranians, and in one case, against his own troops for “tactical reasons”.

Trump is supporting many of the same story lines Tricky Dick used in his campaign. I suspect, if elected, he will screw up just as badly.

Trump lost out on that one but there are likely a few others like him.
