I rarely donate blood because I don’t seem to have the time to do so when the Red Cross van is parked in the grocery store’s parking lot. Even if I’m am on the opening shift working at said grocery store and lasts eight hours (0600 to 1500/3pm), I’d be dead tired and/or the van would be gone.

Are Boba Fett underpants made out of armor?

Not that I don’t support the cause… But is it some “blood donation week” ad campaign? Those looks a little too obviously forced to really work.

When our boys were in college, my wife and I up and moved across the country. It didn’t work, they found us anyway.

One of my sons came out to visit us. As we were sitting on the back porch having a beer, he explained to me how much he appreciated what my wife and I did for him. My immediate thought was, “OK Lord, you can take me now. There is nothing left to live for. It’s not going to get better than this.” I think it took four hours for the swelling in my head to go down so I could make it through the door.

I started donating blood in my early 20s as a way to anonymously give back to society. There is always a need somewhere. Currently, I am working on my 13th gallon and the next donation will be #100. For those unable to give, your support is sincerely appreciated.

It’s also a good way to fend off mosquitoes and vampires.

Soo, instead of a Bounty Hunter, he might be a Charmin Hunter…

Having no idea what Boba Fett is, I googled it. For those who are similarly clueless, in the Star Wars epic, he was a fearsome bounty hunter.

I can’t donate anymore. Have a pint of blood removed really wipes me out.

I’ve given gallons, but my local Red Cross ticked me off during the pandemic. I arrived 10 minutes late for my appointment, and they told me I was too late. I waited until someone didn’t show for their appointment and volunteered to take that person’s place, and they refused a walking willing bag of O positive.

I’ll get back to donating, but y’know, if you’re desperate, you shouldn’t be turning people away.

I used to be afraid of shots and needles myself. Ever since I’ve had my flu vaccines and COVID vaccines, it felt like nothing more than a pinch. In several weeks, I will need a shingles vaccine. (May feel just the same as the previous vaccines mentioned.)
